Dr. Terry L. Adams has generously given two gifts totaling over $60,000 to the West High School Foundation (WHSF) in support of student academics and the Lady Rebels athletic program. These funds were transferred to the West High School Foundation at a meeting with Dr. Adams; Carney Ivey, WHSF President, and David Eldridge, WHSF President-elect on March 16 at the Trinity Health Foundation of East Tennessee.
Dr. Terry L. Adam’s original gift established the Dr. Terry L. Adams Fund at Baptist Health System Foundation in support of the hospital. With the sale of the Baptist/Mercy systems to Tennova Healthcare, a for-profit system, Dr. Adams requested the funds be transferred to the West High School Foundation to help students academically. “I want these funds to help the kids improve their ACT scores so that they can get college scholarships,” said Dr. Adams. His gift to the Lady Rebels is to help improve the women’s facilities and programs at West High, thereby enabling some of those students to seek athletic scholarships.
Carney Ivey, President of the West High School Foundation added, “We are so excited about this gift and what it means to the students at West High. This will make a big difference in our ability to help deserving West students strive for college opportunities.”
