Love Towers Health Clinic
The Family Investment Foundation seeks to establish a clinic to provide health services for the Guy B. Love Towers residents, with the potential to expand to other Knoxville public housing units. The Love Towers is a public housing apartment unit with 250 disabled and/or elderly residents. The healthcare needs of the residents are complicated, and they frequently miss primary care appointments due to transportation difficulties and use the emergency room or emergency medical services (EMS) for care. When asked, 90% of the residents said they would use an onsite clinic if one were established. The Trinity Grant will support the expansion of services to the elderly/disabled adult population in Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC) property utilizing the model of care established at the Vine School Health Center (VSHC).
