Garland Oaks - A safe place for child victims of sex trafficking to find hope
Every two minutes, a child is sold for sex in the United States, the average age is 13, and nearly 100 children will be sold for sex online in TN every month – this is Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking. Unfortunately, there are currently no safe homes in Tennessee specifically for child victims of trafficking. As a result, victims feel hopeless, and the resources and services for restoration are scarce. Outside of a safe home, the road to recovery is significantly impaired. Street Hope TN is building and opening the first long-term, holistic care safe home in Tennessee for child survivors of sex trafficking. Garland Oaks will provide hope and restoration to female survivors from 12-17 years of age. When a girl enters our home, she will find a place of refuge where she can rest, heal, grow, and be restored. By opening a safe home, we will have the opportunity to show young girls a living example of Christ’s redeeming love. When a resident leaves our home, she will know her true identity, have restored hope for her future, and recognize a counterfeit love. Street Hope TN seeks to develop programming for the girls served at Garland Oaks.
