Ola Blackmon-McBride

Biography

Ola Blackmon-McBride is a retiree and community volunteer. She is originally from Mississippi but relocated to Knoxville in 1987. Ola holds a bachelor of science in sociology and social services from Alcorn State University and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Before her retirement, she worked for over thirty years as a non-profit administrator. Ola has a heart for helping others and was the YWCA Tribute to Women 2016 Community Service and Government Honoree. Besides serving on Trinity's board, she serves on the United Way OBI Committee and Alpha Pi Omega Foundation Board of Directors. She is also active in Mount Calvary Baptist Church, serving with the deaconess and women's ministries. Past board involvement includes The Salvation Army and The Restoration House Board of Directors. Ola and James, her husband of 36 years, are parents to two adult daughters.
