Alumni Engagement for Sustainable Upward Mobility
Over the past 17 years, The Restoration House (TRH) has graduated 89 single-mother families from its program. During their time at TRH, moms work towards their goals. Upon graduation, families transition to market rent or home ownership. They are also often just beginning their careers. In 2023, some of The TRH staff visited Warren Village (WV) in Denver, CO. WV works with 90+ families anytime. During the visit, they learned that WV had recently begun doing intentional work with its alumni. Seeing this work challenged TRH’s staff to think about ways to engage with their alumni. TRH’s vision is for graduates to move into the Alumni Engagement program, where they will find continued connection, volunteer engagement, and new personal and professional development opportunities. Ultimately, they imagine a program focused on sustainability for the work they’ve already invested in during their time at The Restoration House.
