Affordable Housing Opportunities and Safe Homes for Seniors
Access to safe, affordable housing remains a critical challenge for low-income families and senior citizens in Jefferson County. Many families struggle to achieve homeownership due to financial barriers, while aging residents face deteriorating living conditions that threaten their health and safety. Without proper intervention, these challenges contribute to housing instability, increased healthcare risks, and a decline in overall community well-being.
Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity is committed to addressing these issues through two targeted initiatives: affordable homeownership opportunities and the Senior Home Repair Program. They empower individuals with stable housing and financial independence by constructing energy-efficient, affordable homes for qualifying families. Simultaneously, their Senior Home Repair Program provides critical home modifications, such as accessibility upgrades, weatherization, and structural repairs, allowing elderly residents to age in place safely and with dignity.
