Flourishing Church Leaders Initiative
In Managing Leadership Anxiety, Steve Cuss writes, “Leaders today face a steady onslaught of internal and external pressures we are not trained to handle. We focus on skill development and hone our gifts, but too often neglect the most powerful leadership tool: awareness of what is happening under the surface.”
Since 2021, Three Rivers has revealed that beneath the surface, many leaders carry rising levels of anxiety that contribute to a broader leadership crisis. Burnout, conflict, and a lack of meaningful support all contribute to the growing weight on leadership.
Three Rivers proposes a way to help identify these underlying pressures with practical tools to address them. They desire to help leaders move from being managed by anxiety to managing it—both in their own lives and the systems they lead—not only for those in senior leadership but also for teams, staffs, and even families that get caught in patterns of systemic anxiety.
Three Rivers is launching a new initiative that extends beyond their current programming: a leadership support network focused on integrated leadership health. In partnership with local counseling networks, spiritual directors, and our growing network of more than 40 churches, they will offer assessment, training, and wellness coaching designed to cultivate self-awareness, relational awareness, and healthier leadership cultures.
