Michael serves as the Dean for the School of Business & Technology at Tusculum College. He was born and raised in Ohio and relocated to Knoxville in 2003. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Kenyon College, a Master of Business Administration degree from Xavier University, and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Cincinnati. His career in academics includes seven years at Lincoln Memorial University School of Business, where he served as Assistant Dean, Director of MBA Programs, Department Chair, and Associate Professor of Business. He also taught finance classes at the University of Cincinnati for six years. Prior to his career in academics, Dillon has extensive private sector experience including sales, sales management, purchasing management, and he has been the owner of a private consulting firm assisting physicians with their financial issues. Michael teaches both finance and economic classes at Tusculum College where he engages and challenges students to develop their critical thinking and decision-making skills. His finance research interests are primarily with IPOs, agency issues, and corporate governance, healthcare, and behavioral finance. He is married to Mary Dillon, Medical Director at the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center. They are proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Rachel and Sarah.
