Neil Goodson, CFA

Neil Goodson is a principal and advisor at Proffitt & Goodson, Inc., an independent investment advisory firm in Knoxville. He is responsible for constructing and implementing investment strategies for the firm’s institutional and private wealth clients. Neil began his career in the capital market section at the U.S. Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC. From there, he joined New Century Advisors LLC, a Bethesda, Maryland, firm managing $3.2 billion in fixed income and absolute return investment strategies for foundations, corporations, and pension plans. Neil earned an M.S. in finance from Washington University in Saint Louis and a B.S. in applied mathematics and economics from the College of Charleston. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder and a member of the CFA Institute. He currently serves on a Sunset Shenanigans Cosmic Drive & Putt event committee, benefiting the McNabb Center. In addition, Neil enjoys cycling, hiking, and cooking. He and his wife, Elisabeth, have three young daughters.
