A Place to Stay

APTS Neighbor Day Center

Currently, A Place to Stay (APTS) serves as the point of entry for anyone seeking assistance who is currently homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless in Blount County. APTS was established by the United Way of Blount County in 2020 to connect all the organizations that worked to end homelessness in Blount County. It serves as the entry point for people seeking assistance and works with nonprofits, churches, and individuals to provide the needed help. No shelter or supportive housing is available, except for Family Promise, which serves families with children and is at capacity. APTS plans to create a place where people who seek permanent housing can sit down and meet one-on-one with a case manager, receive a hot meal, showers, laundry, and a computer center, following the model of the Volunteer Ministry Center in Knoxville.
