FOCUS Women's Reentry Program Expansion & Enrichment
The FOCUS Ministries (FOCUS) Women’s Reentry Program (WRP) addresses the needs of formerly incarcerated women. Nearly all incarcerated women suffer from co-occurring disorders (substance misuse, anxiety, depression). Absent-mother guilt is a reality as well. These realities require a unique, holistic (heart, mind, body) approach to women’s reentry services. FOCUS seeks to pursue the expansion and enrichment of the WRP. The expansion would increase residential capacity from 8 beds to 24 beds. The expansion would involve greater collaboration with rental partner Freedom Investment Group (FIG). FIG plans to build a 24-unit apartment complex by late 2022. In addition, FOCUS would provide 6-9 months of supportive programming for participants.
