Strength in Service: Empowering Those Who Serve Amidst Trauma
REBOOT Recovery supports community servant-leaders through faith-based trauma healing programs, including healthcare professionals, educators, law enforcement officers, clergy, and caregivers. Since 2012, REBOOT has helped 297 public servants living in East Tennessee overcome trauma and embrace a brighter future. Sadly, those first to respond to help others are often the last to seek help for themselves. Recent data from the TN Department of Health reveals a troubling increase in suicide and addiction rates among community servant-leaders, necessitating urgent supportive interventions. REBOOT addresses this crisis by providing life-saving programs to heal and bolster resilience in those who serve our communities tirelessly. Last year, REBOOT held meetings with over 50 public servant agencies, and receiving approval from 14 organizations interested in hosting REBOOT Recovery aims to build on the momentum of 2023. They plan to expand their reach by training 15 new peer leaders and establishing eight additional program locations – tripling capacity from 75 to 250 participants per year. Furthermore, they will launch a series of 2-day workshops specifically designed for those working on shift schedules. REBOOT fosters enduring wellness among community servant-leaders, using peer support to mitigate suicide risk and energize those dedicated to service and protection.
