Widowed Parents Expansion Project
The mission at WPRP is to provide essential support to widowed parents, an underserved, vulnerable population, empowering families to navigate life’s challenges with dignity and resilience. Research has shown that widowed parents face unique emotional, financial, and logistical difficulties after the loss of a partner. These parents are often isolated, struggling to balance the demands of raising children while dealing with grief and the challenges of daily life.
In line with the biblical principle of James 1:27, “The purest form of religion is this: caring for orphans and widows in their distress,” we are dedicated to extending a helping hand to widowed parents during their time of need. They want to expand their services to virtual platforms to better serve these families. By offering remote access to counseling, peer support groups, financial education, and parenting resources, they aim to make their services more accessible to widowed parents, regardless of geographic location or mobility issues. Virtual services will allow these parents to access support at their convenience, offering them a lifeline during some of their most difficult moments.
