Biography
Andrea “Andi” Anderson grew up in Knoxville and earned her undergraduate degree in journalism from Middle Tennessee State University before returning home to attend the University of Tennessee College of Law. While in law school, she received special orders from the IRS to practice as a student attorney in the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberland’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, sparking her desire to pursue a career in tax law. After graduating from UT Law, she attended Georgetown University Law Center, where she earned her LLM in taxation.
Andi joined Pugh CPAS as a Tax Officer in 2023 after more than a decade of practicing law. She has extensive experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration, working with individuals, closely held businesses, and nonprofit organizations. She remains of counsel with the law firm of Young Williams and Theiss.
Andi started volunteering as a teenager through school and church programs and never stopped. She is a member of the Tennessee and Knoxville bar associations, the Knoxville Estate Planning Council, and the Junior League of Knoxville including several years on the board of directors. Currently, Andi serves on the Friends of the Smokies’ Evergreen Ball Steering Committee and as the room mom for her daughter’s preschool. Andi is married to her law school sweetheart, Matt, and they enjoy introducing their daughter and goldendoodle to all of the natural wonders of East Tennessee together.
