Katharine Killen is the Chief Strategy Officer for the Knox County Health Department. In this role, she oversees the agency’s Organizational Planning and Development, Community Health, and Communications divisions, with approximately 60 employees. She’s also tasked with advancing strategic partnerships to build an integrated and effective system that leads to healthier communities. With nearly 20 years of experience in community relations, her background includes work in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. A 2019 Leadership Knoxville graduate, Killen previously served on the boards of the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee, Knox County Imagination Library, and News Sentinel Charities, Inc. She is a Knoxville native and a graduate of the University of Tennessee. She lives in Knoxville with her husband Roger and son Anthony.
