Biography
Kim A. Wood is an innovative social entrepreneur, devoted philanthropist, and resilient leader. As a native of Knoxville and graduate of the University of Tennessee, Ms. Wood is committed to helping ensure East Tennessee is a vibrant region to call home. Currently, Wood serves as President of WoodFam Investments, Managing Partner of Wood Partners Group, Chairperson of Hobson Wood Foundation, and Founder and CEO of Thistle Mill Creative. Previous professional positions include Founder and CEO of Smallball Media. Ms. Wood’s philanthropic contributions are significant. Highlights include the national philanthropy award Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee and East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Most notably, Wood has served in executive leadership or chairperson capacity for Tennessee Arts Commission, Tennesseans for the Arts, Tennessee State Museum, Tennessee Public Art Foundation, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, East Tennessee Regional Leadership, Young Williams Animal Center, Metropolitan YMCA, Leadership Knoxville, Arts, and Cultural Alliance and United Way of Knoxville. Ms. Wood is enthusiastic about the well-being of children, education, and inspiring the next generation of collective leaders. Kim’s most rewarding role has been that of “mama” to her son Michael McClamroch who is currently attending the University of Notre Dame, where he is a collegiate Rugby player. You’ll find Kim on any given day in the outdoors, surrounded by her cherished East Tennessee mountains.
