2021 Phase II Winners

On Thursday, October 21st, the Trinity Health Foundation of East Tennessee awarded over $900,000 in grants to nine nonprofit organizations.  These grants are the result of a year-long effort to stimulate projects related to Trinity’s mission of improving the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of East Tennessee.  From 96 proposals submitted in April, 11 large and 9 small Phase I grant recipients were chosen and together received over $220,000 for project planning and research. After three months of further development, five large and four small grants of the Phase I recipients were selected to receive Phase II grant awards which were announced on October 21st.  These awards emphasize the commitment of these organizations to address and remedy many of the challenges faced by the community.

2021 is the eighth year Trinity has awarded Health Initiative Grants, amounting to more than $11 million, which target the health of our region. Winning initiatives this year address focused needs in strategies to provide resources and community support to the youth in our community, strategies to provide assistance, care, and dignity to the homeless, strategies to address cancer support both virtually and in-person, and strategies to provide dental care to the working uninsured, strategies to address residential and vocational barriers to women, and a safe home for restoration and healing of children escaping a world of sex trafficking.  These proposals were selected based on the potential impact, and sustainability demonstrated in written reports, oral presentations, and site visits.  Trinity is honored to be able to help organizations that seek to make our community healthier and stronger.  To learn more about this year’s winners, click here 2021 Grant Recipients.
